Dollar Store DIY: Football Soup Bowls

Playoff football is in full swing and there's a lot of excitement about the Vikings here in Minnesota this year! Not to mention all of the preparations underway in our city for Super Bowl 52.

We know it's cold here in Minnesota, but we embrace it in The Bold North! I mean, 35 degrees feels really good after -11 degrees. This time of year, I really love curling up with a bowl of soup and watching Sunday football.

With the season going on for a few more weeks, you still have a chance to make these DIY soup bowls. Team branded soup bowls can cost up to $15 a piece! What?! No, thank you. So, you can imagine when I was recently at Dollar Tree and I saw purple soup bowls, I knew just what I wanted to do with them. I love a good dollar store project!

What You Need

Soup Bowls (Dollar Tree)

Note: If you don't have a Cricut, you can always use premade NFL Vinyl Stickers.

To start, I found an image of the Vikings horn that appears on their helmets to download. First, I cut a solid cut image of the horn on white vinyl. Next, I cut out versions of just the horn outline on both black and yellow vinyl.

After placing the white down on the bowls first, I then layered on the black outline and the small yellow detail. It took a little bit of patience to get them on just right, but the entire project was complete in about 45 minutes.

These are perfect for soup and snacks! I am also getting out some of the fun drink stirrers and coasters I made during tailgate season for the big game this weekend. Sunshine Tulip Design also has the perfect Vikings printables to add to any game day fun.

If the Vikings aren't your team, you'll be happy to know Dollar Tree also sells black soup bowls and carries other bowl options more suitable for other team colors. But, I'll be over here saying Skol Vikings this weekend!
